Project FENCE

Project FENCE at Fence Foothills Equestrian Nature Center brings natural history to life for nearly 8,000 elementary and middle school students each year.

Set across 384 protected acres of forest, meadow, and wetland, students explore nature both on-site and in their own classrooms through engaging, hands-on lessons. Popular programs like Schoolyard Kids & Turtle Scavenger Hunt and Insects and Creepy-Crawlies spark curiosity while teaching environmental responsibility.

Project FENCE serves schools in:
North Carolina: Buncombe, Henderson, Rutherford, and Polk Counties
South Carolina: Greenville and Spartanburg Counties

Nature education programs are also available for homeschool groups and youth organizations including 4-H and Scouts.

From school-year curriculum to Summer Day Camps for ages five to twelve, Project FENCE helps children build knowledge, confidence, and a lifelong respect for the natural world at Fence Foothills Equestrian Nature Center.
