Rooted in Nature Since 1984

Established in 1984 through a 117-acre land grant dedicated to recreation, nature, and equestrian use, Fence Foothills Equestrian Nature Center now protects 384 acres in the Appalachian foothills of western North Carolina.

Our meadows, hardwood forests, and constructed marsh serve as living outdoor classrooms. The Equestrian Center hosts competitions across multiple disciplines, while our education programs inspire school groups and families alike.

We believe that when people connect with nature, theyโ€™re more likely to protect it. Every contribution helps preserve this legacy.
